Gross & Co. Solicitors: UK Immigration Law - Seminars

2008 - A revolution in UK Immigration for employers
"The biggest immigration shake-up in 40 years"

What every employer needs to know

SEMINAR DATE: Tuesday 19th August 2008
Venue: The Trinity Centre, 24 Milton Road Science Park, Cambridge, CB4 0FN
Time: 9.00am - 11.30am [Refreshments Provided]

At the same time as unveiling its new Points Based System for UK immigration, the Government has announced new provisions to combat illegal working in the UK. Employers who do not measure up to the new regime and are classed as "failing" sponsors may be removed from a list of approved sponsors and may be prosecuted.

Detailed record-keeping will be vital in order to avoid penalties and problems with hiring or transferring overseas nationals. Greater responsibility will be placed on UK employers who will be required to cooperate with increased monitoring by the immigration authorities.

We are holding a seminar to highlight the major points contained in recent Government announcements, including the PBS, and sanctions against employers.

Graeme Kirk, senior partner and head of the Immigration Department of Gross & Co., who is recognised as one of the leading UK immigration lawyers, will take you through the proposed changes that will affect the way that you recruit foreign nationals. He will concentrate on the practical implications for employers of the Points Based System and the new compliance and audit regimes contained in recent legislation.

Reasons for coming:-

  • Learn how to avoid the pitfalls associated with recruiting foreign nationals.
  • Understand the implications of the new points-based system.
